Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What is different about Lotus Pads brand washable pads?

Simple to use! There are no liners to insert, no folding, velcro or special panties needed. Lotus Pads are made by incorporating three different fabrics: cotton fleece, interlock knit, and flannel. This combination makes for a soft, absorbent pad that contours more naturally to your body. The design provides a comfortable, no slip fit. Three sizes are available to fit individual needs. Lotus Pads come in beautiful prints or undyed organic fabric.

  1. Will I flow through?

Lotus Pads can be worn as long as disposables. Monitor your flow and change accordingly. Wings offer overflow protection on the sides.

  1. How do I use a Lotus Pad ?

Wrap wings around the underside of panty and snap. That's it!

  1. How are they washed?

Rinse or soak used pads in cold water before washing. Machine or hand wash, machine or hang dry.

The heavy day pads are designed in a way that the enclosed soaker layers are sewn in separately so wash water and dryer air flow through them for thorough cleaning.

If soaking, change water daily. Several non-toxic stain removers and soaps are available in your local natural foods store. Hanging in direct sunlight will help bleach out stains.

  1. How many should I start with?

We suggest that you start with a few heavy-to-medium and light-to-medium pads. Try them out, discover what your needs are and add accordingly. Six to twelve pads meet cycle needs and last around five years.

  1. What about when I'm away from home?

To store a wet pad: fold ends of pad over wet area. Bring wings up over that, and snap. Store in pouch or plastic bag.
